We seek an experienced and energetic educational salesperson to serve as head of sales. The primary responsibility of the head of sales is to grow the business by employing and optimizing a repeatable school selling process and exceeding sale goals through successful pipeline management from prospecting to sales close. Working in partnership with the head of customer success, you will use consultative, transactional, and provocative selling strategies strategies to expand Lessonbee in secondary schools across US. You must be a self-starter who is able to manage priorities in order to achieve growth goals and monthly quotas. The ideal candidate will be adaptable to prospect/client needs yet recognize the importance of scalability. We need a hunter and player-coach who is excited by the opportunity to build a sales function from the ground up. A high degree of discretion and accountability, sales leadership experience, and the energy to call and email a large volume of prospects daily are expected. Responsibilities

  • Lead company sales efforts to win schools and districts
  • Serve as an independent contributor and build a team of BDRs
  • Serve as a player-coach in building the sales function of Lessonbee; hire and train junior sales staff
  • Deliver accurate sales forecasts and other required reports to management in a timely manner
  • Consistently meet/exceed sales quota and grow and manage sales pipeline
  • Manage and close contracts with schools, school districts, and CMOs
  • Schedule and conduct demos in-person and virtually via web conferencing (Zoom)
  • Educate customers on features, benefits, pricing, training, and post-sales resources during the sales process
  • Follow up after sales to achieve referrals, grow existing business, and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Demonstrate integrity, commitment, and trustworthiness in all activities
  • Attend approved state, national and regional conferences
  • Maintain accurate account data through the use of a CRM
  • Execute sales campaigns with marketing to acquire prospective customers from marketing leads
  • Gather customer feedback to help improve and enhance product offerings, including identifying ways to operationalize the sales process within the product to achieve greater efficiency in the sales process
  • Travel to potential customer sites intermittently Requirements
    • 7-10 years of direct SaaS product selling experience within K-12 education with a proven track record of success
    • Hunter and player-coach with strong desire to join an early stage edtech startup
    • Expert at consultative, transactional, and provocative selling
    • Sales process training in pipeline management and experience with Hubspot or similar CRM tools
    • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, set and exceed goals
    • Self-starter who can adapt to rapidly changing situations
    • Ability and willingness to call/email 90+ prospects per week
    • Passion for bringing technology into classrooms
    • Strong understanding of web-based technologies
    • Aptitude for working under pressure and meeting deadlines
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Desire to promote health for kids and teens
