Job Description:

We are currently hiring for Production Workers at our manufacturing plant in Lockport, New York, about 30 miles north of Buffalo and 20 miles east of Niagra Falls. As a Production Worker you play a key role in helping us meet goals and objectives and will work to produce specialty materials that are important to customers in strategic end markets such as aerospace and defense, oil and gas, chemical processing, electrical energy and medical.As a Production Worker you will have the opportunity to work in either our Vacuum Induction Melting or Remelt department. In order to become successful and provide immediate impact, you will have to quickly learn ATI, our manufacturing process, and products while working collaboratively with cross-functional teams including engineering, maintenance, quality, and others. Workplace safety is also one of our strategic core values that we live by and you will have a vital role in ensuring that we continue to have safe working operations and processes.This is a union role that works on weekly rotating shifts from 7am-3pm; 3pm-11pm; and 11pm-7am. You must be willing to work multiple shifts, weekends, and overtime in our heavy industrial environment.Additional Responsibilities Vacuum Induction MeltingMaterial movement throughout the plant using mobile equipment such as cranes and lift trucksSetting up and feeding material into moldsArrangement and distribution of charge material that's melted in the furnaceRebuilding tasks for anneal boxes and other crucial components to the manufacturing processRecording and tracking material specifications and manufacturing criteria/results for quality recordsRemeltMaterial movement throughout the plant using mobile equipment such as cranes and lift trucksAssist with set up and operation of equipment and material within the Vacuum Arc Remelt (VAR) process and Electro-slag Remelt (VAR) processPerform welding (MIG), cutting/sawing, and grinding using various machines and toolsRecording and tracking material specifications and manufacturing criteria/results for quality recordsBasic QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GEDAt least 2 years of industrial, farming, military, construction, or heavy labor experiencePreferred Qualifications(in addition to Basic Qualifications)Machine and mobile equipment operationWelding (for remelt department)SkillsStrong understanding of the importance of safety and adhering to safety policiesEffective oral and written communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teamsStrong ability to work independently and as part of a teamEfficient reading and math skills with electrical & mechanical aptitudePandoLogic.
