Job Description:

Interstate Waste Services, a leader in non-hazardous waste management in the U.S. Northeast, is seeking a dedicated Overnight Route Operations Supervisor to oversee and enhance the efficiency of our nightly route operations. This position is critical in ensuring that collections are completed accurately, timely, and in a manner consistent with company policies and government regulations, all while minimizing operational costs. The role demands a combination of leadership, knowledge of waste management operations, and a strong commitment to safety and customer service. Direct and supervise the activities of waste collection staff during assigned shift ensuring adherence to safety protocols and procedures. Monitor and evaluate route efficiency and recommend or implement route changes and adjustments to improve service efficiency and reduce operational costs. Conduct pre-shift meetings to communicate essential information to the staff about route conditions, safety reminders, and other pertinent updates. Ensure compliance with all environmental, government, and safety regulations. Perform spot checks and audits on routes to ensure proper practices are followed. Resolve operational issues and customer complaints that may arise during the shift. Coordinate maintenance and repair of vehicles and equipment to minimize downtime. Prepare reports on operation activities, personnel performance, service quality, and efficiency of the routes. Strong leadership and decision-making skills. Proven ability to manage and direct a team. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Knowledge of safety and regulatory compliance pertaining to waste management. Ability to quickly adapt and respond to industry changes. Proficiency in using operational and logistical software.
