a qualified OR RN in Bronx, New York, 10457! Job Title: RN
Operating Room Profession: Nursing Specialty: Operating Room

Experience: 2 years OR experience preferred License: Current
licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York
Certifications: Basic Life Support Certification, Advanced Cardiac
Life Support Certification Must-Have: Must scrub and circulate,
required to work weekends and holidays as needed. Description:
Operating Room nurses provide 1:1 patient care to patients before,
during, and after surgery for various cases including general
surgery, orthopedics, vascular, ENT, ophthalmology, urology,
endoscopy, and GYN. They provide direct patient care to neonate
through geriatric patient populations. They demonstrate knowledge
of anesthetic drugs, their actions, and side effects. They exhibit
knowledge of arterial lines, Swan-Ganz, spinal, and epidural
catheters and how to document appropriately. They perform
pre-operative and post-operative patient care focusing on
psychosocial, physical, and general aspects of care related to the
surgical environment plan. They demonstrate appropriate priority
development in performing circulating duties, including in
emergency situations. They properly open sterile items and transfer
them correctly to the sterile field. They correctly pour sterile
solutions to the sterile field, ensuring all medications and
solutions are labeled. They perform and document all surgical
counts as per standards and procedures. They oversee the flash
sterilization of items, ensuring sterility with process parameters,
documentation, and transfer of those items to the sterile field.
They properly handle, document, and label all surgical specimens
and cultures. They demonstrate proper ordering, handling, and
administration of blood products and blood work. They demonstrate
knowledge and ability to safely operate mechanical, electrical, and
powered equipment according to manufacturer's instructions. They
maintain continuous communication with the surgical team about
patient conditions. They follow and maintain surgical standards,
universal precautions, and departmental procedures for
pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative patient care. 5
