Registered Nurse (RN) | Medical-Surgical Location: Bronx, NY Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,142 per week Shift Information: Days - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 1/28/2026 About the Position Job Title: Level 2 Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical/Surgical Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical/Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 3 shifts per week Hours per Shift: 11.5 hours Experience: 2 years License: Registered Nurse License required Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: Epic experience; experience with tracheostomy and ventilation required; must work every other weekend and holidays; may be required to float to other medical-surgical units. Description: Develop a plan of care for individual patients by interviewing patients and family members, reviewing health records, and determining required health and physical care, including discharge planning. The plan of care reflects special cultural, religious, physical, and psychosocial needs identified, containing expected outcomes individualized to the patient or situation. Initiate appropriate measures in emergency situations when the physician is not immediately available, such as resuscitative measures in cases of cardiac or respiratory arrest. Administer therapeutic measures as prescribed by the physician, including medications and IV therapy that alter hemodynamic status, respiratory therapy, and mechanical ventilation. Plan, provide, and appropriately document patient and family education in preventative, curative, and rehabilitative measures while considering learning needs, styles, barriers, and readiness to learn. Record observations, nursing interventions, therapeutic measures administered, and the status of coordinated activities between nursing and other professional disciplines. Evaluate progress toward the attainment of outcomes, including patient status, interventions, and patient response to nursing and therapeutic interventions, and update the plan of care as necessary. Document specific healthcare requirements for patients and prepare written assignments for individual team members, matching their skills and abilities to the care requirements of patients. Plan and develop care delivery, implement the plan, and coordinate the documentation of care. Assume oversight for patient care administered by licensed practical nurses and unlicensed personnel in assigned or delegated tasks. Provide technical guidance, delegation, and direction to other registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and unlicensed personnel. Share responsibilities for sustaining adequate supplies and equipment as well as general upkeep of the unit and preserving a safe environment. Maintain knowledge and competency that reflects current nursing practice and fosters professional growth for oneself and other staff members. Demonstrate positive role model and leadership qualities while adhering to and promoting professional, ethical, and legal standards of nursing. Maintain and promote positive personal work habits, interpersonal skills, and public relationships with employees, administration, medical staff, patients, and families.
