LanceSoft is seeking a travel nurse RN Interventional Radiology for a travel nursing job in Bronx, New York. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Interventional Radiology - Discipline: RN - Duration: 13 weeks - 40 hours per week - Shift: 8 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel - Trauma Level: 2 - Charting System: Allscripts - Department/Unit: IR | RN - Required Certifications: - BLS - ACLS - PALS (Traveler MUST have PALS certification, peds experience not necessary) - Unit Setup: - suites/labs: 1 IR room - Cath Lab (8th floor) used for Vascular Procedures (can go to both units within the same day) - 7 RNs staffed - Case Volume: - IR: 5–8 procedures/day - CT prep/IV starts: ~50 patients/day - Staffing Assignments / Common Workflows: - 1 RN in special procedures (second RN if sedation needed) - 1 RN for breast biopsies - 1 RN in US: thyroid needle aspiration - CT/MRI: scan preps, IV starts for peds and adults sedation cases, oral preps - Patient monitoring for pacemaker patients - IR / CT / US Procedures: - Various biopsies (e.g., IR breast biopsies) - US procedures - Complex vascular: embolization of bleeds, fibroids, pre-surgical tumors - Thrombectomies of PE and DVT using INARI or EKOS systems - Drains: abscesses, pleural effusions, hip/knee collections, abdominal fluid (paracentesis) - Pain management injections: cervical, thoracic, lumbar spine; shoulder, hip, knees - Lines: Permcaths, PICCs, ports, tunneled catheters, chemo infusion ports - Interrogate fistulas - Job Duties: - Assessment and charting per Radiology Flowsheet - Patient management in pre, intra, and post phases - Communicate with physician and mid-level regarding plan of care/changes - IV insertions and CT preps for scheduled patients - Experience: - 1 year IR experience - Must be proficient in IV starts - Open to first-time travelers - Critical care exposure/experience is a bonus - EMR/Equipment: - Allscripts - Interventionalist Coverage / Call: - IR Chair in house with another MD all day - After 5p on call - Leadership: - Charge nurse coordinates and runs the calendar - Will take patients if needed to help - IR Techs: - CST paired with physician - IR tech from IR Radiology Department - Shifts & Scheduling: - 7a–7:30p and 7p start times - 12-hour shifts - Lunch: 1 hour - Breaks: two 15-minute breaks - Travelers provide availability; flexibility required - No guarantee of block scheduling - Excessive call-ins may lead to termination - Weeknight/Weekend Call: - No call - 2 RN perm staff on at night - Holiday Coverage: - Perm staff to cover - Call Response Time: - N/A - Floating Requirements: - No - Only to Cath Lab for IR-specific cases - Utilized in IR and CT/MRI areas only - Scrub Color: - Royal Blue - Cath Lab: surgical scrubs or disposables allowed - Unit Orientation: - 3 shifts - Manager evaluates need for additional support - Documentation: electronic and paper (based on modality/procedure) - All IR procedures documented in Allscripts About LanceSoft Established in 2000, LanceSoft is a Certified MBE and Woman-Owned organization.
