ACLS, PALS Must-Have: PALS certification Description: The unit
consists of 1 Interventional Radiology room. The team includes 7
registered nurses. On average, there are 5-8 procedures daily in
Interventional Radiology. There is preparation for approximately 50
patients each day with CT and IV starts. Patient management occurs
in all three phases of procedure: pre, intra, and post. Assessment
and charting are completed per the Radiology Flowsheet.
Communication with the physician and mid-level providers regarding
care plans is essential. IV insertions and CT preparations are
required for scheduled patients. Common procedures include various
biopsies, complex vascular interventions, drainage of abscesses,
and pain management injections. Proficiency in IV starts is a
prerequisite, with critical care experience as a bonus. The
electronic charting system in use is Allscripts. The schedule
includes shifts starting at 7 am and 7 pm, with typical meal breaks
provided. Travelers are asked to provide availability but should
remain flexible with scheduling. There are no call requirements,
with personnel coverage in place for nights and weekends.
Unit-specific orientation will be conducted over three shifts, with
evaluations for additional support if needed. Documentation is
managed electronically and includes paper charting based on
modality and procedure. All procedures are recorded in the
electronic medical record system. Requirements Required for
