other weekend and holidays Description: As a nurse in Labor and
Delivery, you will provide direct and specialized care for newborns
needing close monitoring due to premature birth, birth defects,
infections, or other medical conditions requiring close observation
and assessments. You will work with doctors and other healthcare
professionals to develop and implement a plan of care for high-risk
newborns requiring high-technology care, including the use of
ventilators, incubators, or other special equipment or surgery.
Your duties will include monitoring and maintaining neonatal oxygen
therapy and intravenous therapies. You will assess and monitor
vital parameters using both non-invasive and invasive techniques.
You will be responsible for safely administering medications,
including calculating and re-checking appropriate dosages, ensuring
proper administration, and monitoring for side effects. You will
fully support breastfeeding by encouraging pumping and the use of
breast milk as appropriate. You will provide privacy during
feeding, offer encouragement, and utilize resources for difficult
feeding situations. You will double-check the identification of
stored breast milk prior to use. Additionally, you will prepare for
neonatal transport and maintain certification in Neonatal
Resuscitation Program (NRP). You will perform bedside urine testing
and implement measures to decrease the risk of infant abduction,
demonstrating appropriate responses in actual or potential
situations. You will demonstrate proficiency in ventilator
management of newborns and in the administration of Total
