Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Surgical Technologist Discipline: Allied Health Professional Duration: 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 10 hours, days Employment Type: Local Contract WCS Healthcare is currently seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist for an ongoing assignment at an Ambulatory Surgery Center in Milford, CT. Job Function: Day Shift. 7am - 5pm. Maintain a proper sterile field during surgical procedures. Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after operations, documenting according to policy. Prepare patients for surgery as requested. Provide technical assistance to surgeons, OR nurses, and anesthesiologists as needed. Wash and sterilize equipment using proper sterilization techniques. Job Requirements: Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program. Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA). BLS certification from the American Heart Association preferred. 2 years of experience working as a certified Surgical Technologist in an OR setting.
