Overview: BronxCare Health System is looking for a Senior Director of Operations who will be responsible for operating and capital expenses for the following departments: Engineering, Facilities Management, Safety and Bio-Medical Engineering. Ensures that all areas follow all applicable regulatory codes and are survey ready at any time. The Senior Director of Operations will report to the VP of Operations. Responsiblites: Establish and maintain positive relationships with patients, visitors, and other employees. Interacts professionally, courteously, and appropriately with patients, visitors and other employees. Behaves in a manner consistent with maintaining and furthering a positive public perception of BronxCare Health System and its employee. Contributes to and participates in the Performance/Quality Improvement activities of the assigned department(s). Contribution and participation includes data collection, analysis, implementation of and compliance with risk management as well as support of and participation in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) teams, consistent adherence to the specific rules and regulations of the BronxCare Health System (a) Safety and Security Policies, (b) Risk Management: Incident and Occurrence Reporting, (c) Infection Control Policies and Procedures and (d) Patient and Customer Service. Responsible for the activities of the following management groups:Engineering, Facilities Management, Safety and Bio-Medical Engineering.Develops division objectives, policies, plans and supervises subordinates through periodic review of results against plans, budgets and other standards. Takes action as required to improve performance. Oversees expenses/ budgets for the following groups: Engineering, Facilities Management, Safety and Bio-Medical Eng. Maintains sound organization structure, and determines the basic functions, specific responsibilities and relationships of positions supervised including the appraisal and training of subordinate staff. Administers and coordinates the various functions and operations of the Division; evaluates the performance of the Division against approved plans and takes action when necessary to correct major deviation from expected results.Ensures that assigned areas of responsibility are survey ready and in compliance with Joint Commission, NYS & CMS standards and NFPA Life Safety Codes and FDNY Fire Codes.Ensures timely completion of Capital Projects.Ensures that assigned areas of responsibility are survey ready and in compliance with Joint Commission, NYS & CMS standards and NFPA Life Safety Codes and FDNY Fire Codes. Ensures timely completion of Capital Projects. Ensures that Departments/Areas comply with legal and regulatory requirements, maintains appropriate documentation to support compliance requirements including the NFPA Life Safety Code Requirements. Others tasks and assignments delegated by the Vice President of Operations. Qualifications: 5+ Years of Experience overseeing Facilities/Construction, Engineering, Safety, and Bio-Medical Engineering. 3-5 years of increasingly responsible experience in hospital management. Knowledge and Experience with the NFPA Life Safety Codes for Hospitals and Nursing Homes. Direct management experince. Highschool or GED required. Major fields of Study - Business Adimn, Public Health or equivalent. Computer literacy required.
