Job Description: Arcadia University's College of Health Sciences includes: The Department of Public Health with Public Health and Health Sciences programming; the Department of Medical Science, including the Physician Assistant program; and the Department of Physical Therapy that houses several programs. The College is accepting applications for a full-time, 12-month, Assistant Professor (tenure track) faculty position in Health Sciences through the College of Health Sciences and Department of Public Health. The position is projected to begin in the Fall semester, 2026 (i.e., August) or Summer 2026 if feasible with timing. Health Sciences is an interdisciplinary major, including courses in health sciences, public health, biology, chemistry, and other related disciplines at Arcadia University. Programming is offered through the College of Health Sciences (CHS) and is housed administratively in the Department of Public Health. CHS is also seeking to launch additional health science programming in the Fall 2026, and this position will support these initiatives in addition to teaching and advising in the health sciences curriculum. Location: Glenside Responsibilities : We are seeking an individual with academic and applied health and research experience in the health sciences and related health fields. Teaching, scholarly and applied and interdisciplinary practice and research expertise of the candidate might pertain to health services, health systems and delivery, and population health. Duties will include: 1) Teaching undergraduate students through in-person and online courses in health sciences, public health, and, possibly, chemistry or biology-related course lab support as feasible; 2) Supporting the implementation of an online undergraduate professional pathway or related programming in health sciences and doctoral level coursework; 3) Advising undergraduate and/or graduate students; 4) Supporting the overall structure of health sciences along with the Health Sciences Program Director, Chair of Public Health, and the Dean of the College of Health Sciences; 5) Engaging in research-related innovation; 6) Full engagement and support of the interdisciplinary work of the programming across the university; and 7) Support of the College of Health Sciences and University through service. Presence on campus is expected, including when teaching online and when not conducting courses. Candidates will have a strong interest in health sciences and application and research through health promotion and research, teaching excellence, curricular innovation, student engagement, and service to department, College, and University. Candidates will also have strong evidence of, or highly emerging potential for, teaching and advising excellence, and research excellence particularly with community-level, clinical, and applied population health topics. A typical 12-month faculty role involves student advising, a 3 (fall): 3 (spring): 2 (summer) course load, and support for department curricular and other needs as well as University service and scholarship. Program support roles might involve course release or stipend to adjust workload. Qualifications : Candidates for the position must meet the following requirements: 1) Terminal degree with health sciences with academic and applied relevance (e.g., PhD, DHSc, DMSc, DrPH, etc); 2) research-related experience and evidence; 3) Evidence of teaching, advising, and curricular work at the undergraduate and graduate levels; 4) Evidence of collaborative work, ideally in higher education and in health systems, including in research settings; 5) Strong written and oral communication skills. Awareness of program development, admissions and recruitment processes, advising, and program and course development and pathways for Health Sciences is strongly preferred.
