Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. This position seeks a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support communication within a dynamic educational environment. The role offers the opportunity to work in schools located in Brooklyn, NY, providing essential interpreting services for deaf and hard-of-hearing students. Travel between schools may be required, allowing for a varied and engaging work experience. Key Responsibilities: Facilitate effective communication between students, teachers, and staff through sign language interpretation. Translate spoken language into sign language and vice versa during classroom activities, meetings, and school events. Collaborate with educators to support student learning and inclusion. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all interpreting assignments. Manage schedules and travel arrangements between multiple school sites as needed. Qualifications and Experience: Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with strong interpreting skills. Experience working in educational settings preferred.
