Job Description:
Interstate Waste Services, a leader in sustainable waste
management solutions in the Northeast, is seeking a dedicated
Assistant Manager of Site Operations. This role is pivotal in
maintaining the efficiency and effectiveness of our day-to-day
operations in non-hazardous waste collection, transfer, recycling,
and disposal services. The Assistant Manager will support the Site
Manager in overseeing operational activities, ensuring compliance
with regulatory standards, and upholding our commitment to
environmental stewardship. Assist the Site Manager in supervising
daily site operations and staff to ensure operational efficiency
and safety. Coordinate with maintenance, dispatch, and
administrative staff to optimize site resource use and operational
schedules. Implement and monitor compliance with health, safety,
and environmental regulations to ensure a safe workplace and
adherence to legal and company standards. Conduct regular site
inspections and audits to identify areas of improvement in
processes and performance. Manage relationships with local agencies
and community stakeholders to maintain the company's positive
image. Assist in developing and managing the site budget, focusing
on cost-efficiency and effective resource management. Provide
training and support to site personnel, fostering a culture of
continuous improvement and professional growth. Strong leadership
and team management skills Excellent organizational and
multitasking abilities Proficient in industry-specific software and
systems Effective communication and interpersonal skills Strong
problem-solving skills and ability to think strategically OSHA
Safety Certification preferred Solid Waste Association of North
America (SWANA) Manager of Landfill Operations Certification is a
plus
