Job Description:
Interstate Waste Services, a leader in non-hazardous waste
management in the U.S. Northeast, is seeking a skilled B Mechanic
to join our technical and maintenance team. This position is
crucial for maintaining and repairing our fleet of waste collection
vehicles to ensure safe and efficient operations. The B Mechanic
will work closely with other skilled technicians to diagnose
issues, perform regular service, and ensure compliance with all
safety and environmental regulations. Ideal candidates will have a
strong background in diesel mechanics, a commitment to excellent
service, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented
environment. Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and
hydraulic issues in diesel and non-diesel waste collection
vehicles. Perform routine vehicle maintenance and inspections
according to manufacturer’s specifications and company standards.
Collaborate with other mechanics and technicians to facilitate
timely and efficient repair procedures. Maintain documentation of
maintenance and repairs in compliance with company policies and
regulatory requirements. Assist in the inventory management of
parts and supplies. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures in
the workplace. Proficiency in diesel engine repair and maintenance.
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Knowledge
of hydraulic and electrical systems. Ability to read and interpret
technical manuals and schematics. Effective communication skills
for interacting with team members and management. ASE Diesel
Certification strongly preferred CDL License or ability to obtain
one is beneficial
