Junior Accountant
ABOUT THE COMPANY
Our client, located in Mount Vernon, NY is seeking a Junior Accountant ASAP! The company was established almost 100 years ago and is a leader in their industry. We have recently placed two candidates with this client and they have had great success!ABOUT THE ROLE:

• This role offers flexible core work hours
• Available to start on 1/24/22
• COVID vaccine is requiredRESPONSIBILITIES:
  
  • Assisting in preparing timely and accurate internal financial statements on a monthly basis for client and its' related companies
  • Preparing monthly bank reconciliations for client and its' related companies
  • Preparing daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual closing statements, reports and invoices
  • Preparing monthly journal entries
  • Maintaining the Fixed Asset and associated depreciation schedules on JDE; provide monthly detail for journal entries; insure proper recording of new purchases and disposals
  • Preparing the Property, Plant, and Equipment standard report for Corporate
  • Supporting external and internal requirements for SOX and financial audits
  • Preparing audit schedules
  • Maintaining monthly files as needed within the department
  • Performing additional assignments as requiredEXPERIENCE PREFERRED FOR THIS ROLE:
    
    • 4 year business/accounting degree or equivalent combination of training and experience
    • Advanced Microsoft Office Excel skills is a must
    • Construction experience is preferred but not required
    • Highly organized
